Baby from the Block...
Does anyone remember their favorite classic childhood toy back in the day?
I want these because they are not the ipad, iphone and imac and they'll be every bit as entertaining to my 10-month old and me! Not only does he get to build towers but he gets to learn how to count, sing his alphabets and learn the shapes of a range of animals while he's at it. I do love the fact that they are handcrafted in Michigan and are completely child-safe using non-toxic inks.
Not to say, that my household doesn't own any plastic toys. Yes, we are guilty but they are all gifts from friends and family - I swear! Now that my son is a lot more observant, he notices my iphone each time I take a quick snap of him; he'll lunge for it even if it means taking my left eye out. Lately, my photos of him have been mostly blurry and a close-up of his palm. So, I'm planning to introduce more of these old fashioned classic toys to stimulate him and hide my phone whenever he's around... unless he's not looking.
ps. Another plus about classic toys - they are great keepsakes for a long time.
